International learnings

In early October 2019, Mr Yang attended the Melbourne Advanced Facial Anatomy Course and  the annual conference of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) in Brisbane, Australia.  The hands-on facial anatomy course provides updates on more recent advances in facial anatomy relevant to the safety in approaches to face lift surgery.  The annual ASAPS conference focussed on the facial and breast cosmetic surgery. Bringing together the leading minds and hands of Australasia and further afield, he particularly enjoyed and valued the sessions run by visiting plastic surgeon Dr. Brad Calobrace from Kentucky, highly regarded as an authority in primary and revisional breast augmentations.

Ensuring he attends such international conferences regularly, means that Mr Yang provides the latest information on procedures and trends in his specialty fields. These may not always be the best option for you, but by comparing and contrasting others’ approaches to similar surgeries, you are aware of the very latest methods which gives more in-depth knowledge for you with regard to the procedure you will have.

Kiwi SunSmart: Prevent skin cancer and sunburn this summer

If you have been keeping up with local media reports, you may have read that cancer groups are calling for more prevention and funding measures in line with Australian practices to reduce the number of skin cancer deaths in New Zealand.

New Zealand has the deadliest melanoma rates in the world, and Taranaki, along with Bay of Plenty, tops the country with a disproportionate share of the 378 people who die each year from the cancer. The cancer, which overwhelmingly affects people of European ethnicity, kills 6.2 people per 100,000 in Taranaki. Wellington/Kapiti has the lowest rates in the country at 3.4 per 100,000.

Size matters

Excess breast size affects many women in varying degrees and can be debilitating. Symptoms can include back, shoulder and neck pains, poor posture, breast pain, and macerations under breast folds causing infection in warmer weathers. These women often struggle to exercise despite trying, struggle to find suitable clothing, and some struggle with social embarrassment and low self-esteem as a result. Breast reduction had been described since the 6th century AD, proving that this is simply not just another modern phenomenon.  Mr Yang was trained in different breast reduction techniques and prides himself in achieving aesthetically pleasing breast shapes after surgery. Many of his patients had described their journey to smaller breasts as ‘life changing.’  Please contact Mr Yang for a consultation to start your journey and break free from the shackles of large breasts.
